Relationship Between Shoe Size and Height Liliana Galeno Relationship Between Shoe Size and Height

Research Question: IS there a relationship between a person’s shoe size and there height? Independent Variable: Height Dependent Variable: Shoe size

Hypothesis: From previous assumptions I predict that there IS a relationship between the person’s shoe size and a person’s height. Example: In order for the body’s weight and balance should be proportional meaning that the feet provide a balancing structure for the entire body. Thus, a tall person may not have small feet.

Materials: Ruler Measuring Tape Siblings

Procedure: 1) I chose out 5 people including myself, two younger boys of age seven and four. A cousin of age eighteen, my sister of age twenty and myself, age 21. 2) I measured in centimeters both their height and shoe size. 3) I recorded the data on a table.

Result/ Data: Name Height (cm) Shoe size (cm) Age (yrs) Gordis 95 15 4 Raul 104 19 7 Charito 171 25 18 Dahlia 140 23 20 Liliana 133 21

Conclusion: As evidence by my date I claim that there IS a relationship between shoe size and height because the line on the graph was increasing signifying that the taller the person is the bigger shoe size he or she will have. Further factors that can be analyzed are whether or not age and gender can influence the data and or results.
