Keep food safe tri-fold Sarah Hallaj, Dietetic Intern December 7, 2009
Some statistics According to the CDC, estimated foodborne diseases cause approximately 76 million illnesses, 325,000 hospitalizations, and 5,000 deaths in the United States each year It is therefore important to keep our food safe Therefore, it is important to keep our food safe We know this can be avoided in 4 simple steps
4 SIMPLE STEPS Keep food clean Separate: don’t cross contaminate Cook it well Cool it soon
Creating the tri-fold Decided to use “Fight Bac” and “We wish you well” handouts as they are clearly formed and have been used by the educators To keep the message consistent and not confuse the students
Tri-fold design and layout Went with the fall theme to focus on Thanksgiving holiday Your input and feedback was helpful in formulating a simple and easy to follow message But also relevant to other holidays and gatherings in general Your feedback was helpful in terms of what works (reaches to audience) what doesn’t, what colors, fonts, pictures work too
