Systems of Inequalities

Investigations Go to desmos.com and type in the equations. Copy them down onto your paper and answer the questions.

Definition Remember, a system just means more than one together. System of equations- more than 1 equation (typically just 2) System of inequalities- more than 1 inequality (as many as needed) For a system of inequalities, the solution is what they all have in common.

Examples 1. y ≤ ½x + 2 2. 3x + 2y ≥ -2 y < -2x – 3 x + 2y ≤ 2

Examples You try! y > 2 4. y < x x – 2y < 8 y > x+1 No solution

Examples- More than two equations 5. y < -3x + 5 You Try! 2x + 3y < 12 y > -4 x > -4 x < 5 y < 3 y > 3/4x - 1
