Visual Research

What is it? How do we do it?

Definition Of Research The task of research is to find out, to investigate, to develop, to test out, to address questions that ask ‘what if’, how, why, where, how well, what and where.   Quote taken from ‘Research Methods in Education’

Visual Research Investigating something in a visual way. What happens if I use this media? What is the best way to recreate this texture? How can I make this look realistic? What happens if I put this in an unusual place? What is the change in meaning if I merge this with something else. How have other artists dealt with this object/issue/material?

Identify your question What are you investigating? How will you explore it? Use Brainstorms to help you find questions. Look at the work of artists working on the same or similar questions and learn from them.
