Symbiosis “living together” A close relationship between organisms of two different species
Parasitism Relationship between two organisms in which one benefits at the expense of the other
Commensalism Relationship between two species in which one benefits but the other is not affected.
Mutualism Relationship between two different species in which both organisms benefit.
Competition Two or more species are competing for the same resources Food Space
Invasive Species Invasive, non-native species - "non-native", plants or animals that have a harmful effect on the habitats they invade environmentally and/or ecologically. Example: Cane Toads Means of Introduction: Originally introduced to control sugar cane pests; current population in FL was an accidental release Impact: Preys on and competes with native species; highly toxic to predators (including pets)
