Warm-Up # Simplify 2 3𝑥∙3+5 −4 Evaluate the expression (𝑧−7) 2 +5 𝑖𝑓 𝑧=7 Solve for n in the expression 𝑛 −13 12 =3

Activity You and your partner will solve 4(2x + 1) = 9x +15 Divide the paper into two columns: the left side is the mathematical steps and the right side is the description. Write both names on the top right corner Write the equation in the middle Don’t forget to have illustration for the equation

Grading Rubric: 20 points toward your classwork (15%) 5 points for the left side. 5 points for the right side 2 points for the illustration 3 points for how it looks. CLEAN, CLEAR, and COLORFUL Individual: Writing component– 3 points for switching paper with a different pair. What did they do the same or different from yours? Did they make any mistakes and what were the mistakes? Any challenges of creating the poster. Individual: 2 points-- Did you contribute to the poster? Sally R & Kelly T Period 1 9x +3 = 2(4x + 5) Step 1: you distribute -2 into 4x + 5 Step 2: take the reverse of + 3 which is -3. don’t forget to do it to the other side of the equation 9x + 3 = 2(4x + 5) 9x + 3 = 8x + 10 -3 -3 9x = 8x + 7

Grading Rubric: 20 points toward your classwork (15%) 4(2x + 1) = 9x +15 5 points for the left side. 5 points for the right side 2 points for the illustration 3 points for how it looks.
