Box-and-Whisker Plot- displays the distribution of data items along a number line.
Quartiles-divide the data into four equal parts. The median is the middle quartile
Lower quartile is the median of the “lower” half of the data Upper quartile is the median of the “upper” half of the date The box is drawn from the lower quartile to the upper quartile The whiskers go from the ends of the box to the high and low value of the data
Make a box and whisker plot Age when students first had their own cell phone Arrange data from low to high Find the quartiles Make graph
Analyzing the graph It shows the high and low value If the box is small, most of the data is close to the median If the whiskers are long the extreme values are far from the median
