1/15 Daily Catalyst Pg. 5 Absorption Lab 1. In an experiment, the scientists is studying the effect of pollution on pine trees. The scientists study seven pine trees over a period of ten years. Every month, the scientists measure the effect of pollution on the bark of the trees. A. What type of graph would scientists use to display the effect of pollution on the trees? B. Create a potential hypothesis for this situation. C. Identify variables of this experiment that should be constant. D. If scientists were measuring how tall the trees are, what is the best unit of measurement? (miles, meters, inches, or grams)

Pg. 5 Absorption Lab Directions: On page 5, with your group, write a hypothesis about how much water will be absorbed during the assigned time. Each group will complete the lab for the assigned time. We will share the data as a class. Draw in the data table at the labs and fill in this data table as a group. Every member of the group, must have a completed lab. Return to your seats and complete the conclusion in your notebook. I will check the labs on Tuesday.

Quiz Directions: Silently and independently complete the quiz. Turn your quiz into the basket when you are finished. Pick up the math in science homework. Time: 15 minutes Noise: 0 (silent)
