HOW & WHEN DID WAR END? IN THE PACIFIC? THE U.S. & THE ATOMIC BOMB? IN EUROPE? MUSSOLINI? GERMANY? SOVIET UNION? FRANCE & OTHER CAPTURED COUNTRIES?

The Tehran Conference Stalin, Roosevelt, and Churchill meet (1943) Met to decide the future of the war Soviet & British-American forces would meet in Germany & split the country Allies agreed on a division of Germany after the war

The yalta conference The “Big Three” powers met (1945) The defeat of Germany was guaranteed 11 million Soviet soldiers took possession of East & Central Europe Stalin suspicious of Western powers He wanted pro-Soviet governments in Europe U.S. wanted liberated countries to have free elections (choose their own govt)
