Presentation transcript:

May 1, 2014 Warm Up: The total GPE of a falling rock is 10 Joules the Ek of the rock is 9.8 Joules, how is this not a violation of the Law of Conservation of Energy? Homework: Read about Data Tables p. 752 in the textbook, Read about graphs, analysis of data and conclusions on pages 8 & 9, and for more graphing help read pages 752-754 in the textbook, Monday there will be a notebook check. Class Work: Organize your notebook for the check. Go over Skate Virtual Lab & Partner Information. Coaster Mania Documentary. Tomorrow we will be in the computer lab 706.

Notebook Check Chapter 17, Section 3 Notes Four Scientist ½ page of research Test, Motion: Speed, Velocity, & Acceleration Chapter 17, Section 4 Notes Khan Academy: Introduction to Momentum Diagram illustrating Potential and Kinetic Energy Diagram illustrating the Law of Conservation of Energy Khan Academy: Conservation of Energy Notes Study Guide: Force and Momentum Test Skate Virtual Lab Sheet.

Skate Virtual Lab Project You may work alone or with one partner. You will follow the instructions for completing the lab from the lab assignment sheet. You (and your partner) will be forming a hypothesis, given the possibilities offered by the virtual lab, design a procedure to collect to test your hypothesis, make an appropriate data table, analyze the data you collect and make a conclusion based on the data. The project is due typed on Wednesday May 7, 2014. We will be in the computer lab, on 5/2, 5/5, 5/6, 5/7 in room 706. If you are done early, work on the biography project, if you are done with the bio project there will be assignments on power and work for you to complete.
