The Importance of Literature A little something to get you thinking about writing, literature, and a jumping off point for this course.

To Get Us Started… Consider the following quotation: “Words are sacred. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you might nudge the world a little.” (Tom Stoppard, author)

Initial Question Respond to the following topic (on a full sheet of paper – you’ll be adding to this): What do you like about literature? You might not like much about literature but… when you do enjoy reading a novel, etc…, what is it that appeals to you? What are some aspects of novels and stories that you recognize and appreciate? Explain yourself well and use examples.
