Presentation transcript:

Warm-Up Good morning! Complete the Multiple Intelligences Quiz and Graph that you got at the door. NO TALKING, PLEASE! (goes on p.11)

Unit 1 Project: Multi-Genre Memoir Project Due date: Friday, September 6 250 points total (HUGE grade!) The absolute latest I will accept any late projects (-10% each day late) is Wed., September 11. (handout goes on p. 12)

Writing Workshop: Writing Description- Concrete Sensory Details One thing I will look for in your narrative writing is your use of sensory details. What are the senses? How does using sensory details enhance your writing? (handout goes on p. 13)

Writing Task Write about a cultural ritual, custom, or tradition that your family practices that outsiders would find odd or unusual. You may pick your format: essay, short story, poem, etc. Your final product must include an edited draft (at least one, with all changes made), your final proofed draft, AND a VISUAL of some sort. Today you’re drafting and peer editing. Use your own paper, not your notebook. Make sure your name is on it. The final product is due as one of the non-negotiables in your Unit 1 Project.
