Willow Class Newsletter This weeks topic project... TT Rock Stars- Please log into your TT Rock Star account and complete the challenges. Well done to all those that are login in and working hard on your times tables; this is my highest score, can you beat it?? Willow Class Newsletter 18th January 2019 . How can you use 7 x 3 =21 to work out 7 x 6? How would you explain to someone in Year 2 that 0 x 34 = 0? How would you also explain to the same child that 1 x 34 = 34? This weeks topic project... This week I would like you to research about a well known local river or one perhaps a little further afield, perhaps you could base your presentation around a world famous river. We have been learning all about rivers in geography this week and I have been very impressed about the geographical vocabulary you have all retained. Please make sure you present your work in an eye catching way, it should be information and well laid out. Name three numbers that are multiples of 5 and multiples of 6. How many different ways can you make 22 using multiplication? Match the equivalent number sentences: 5 x 6 30 x 4 2 x 2 x 2 x 9 3 x 4 x 10 9 x 8 2 x 5 x 3 6 x 9 2 x 3 x 6 SPAG Challenge I would like you to choose an appropriate word to fill in the gaps in these sentences. Below the calm waves, brightly coloured coral glistened in the light. As the girl waved at the departing train, soft tears rolled down her cheeks. 2. How many different variations can you think of for the following calculations? Spellings- Excited, gradually, afterwards, mistakes, expected, unfortunate, particular, explained, The sentences that some of you wrote for your spellings last week are not crucial, it will help you to use the words correctly and it is an excellent idea but I won’t except this as part of your homework.  Reading – You must make sure that you are either reading a minimum of three times a week or login in and completing your Reading Eggs tasks. I will be checking your reading diaries when I collect homework in to see what you’ve been reading  Your project book is just like your other school books so you must treat it the same. Please write neatly, present your work nicely and write in pencil or pen if you have a licence.
