Measurement TOPIC 5 MY GOAL G.O.T. = Get On Task Wed 09.26. 12 Plants I will… find out the types of tissue & organs in plants JUST LOOK at 1 of the stations closest to your seat: Are the beans monocots OR dicots? Is the rice a from a monocot or dicot? Is the flower an Angiosperm or a Gymnosperm? Is the pine cone from an Angiosperm or a Gymnosperm? Identify the leaves as Mono or Dicot. Identify the moss – is it vascular or nonvascular? Is it a Bryophyte or a Tracheophyte? So, are all the other plants & plants parts vascular or nonvascular?

Procedure …. AKA “What are we doin’ today?” Get on Task: Review Monocots/Dicots, Vascular/NonVascular Attach pages to ISN Complete work Formative Check End of Class Assignment Packet p. 4 to ISN 39 Packet p.5 to ISN 41

Your Job Today Independently Complete notes on ISN page 39 & 41  Use the textbook! Complete ½ sheet Formative Checks

ISN p.38 MT 4, Daily Formative Check #3 Tissues Label the diagrams as either 2. Next to the tissue, match the function: Xylem or Phoem… a) Stores carbohydrates look at the arrows! b) Moves food (sugar) and water C) Protects

ISN p.41 MT 4, Daily Formative Check #4 Flowers & Leaves Purpose of cuticle?__________________________ Purpose of Guard cell?_______________________ What is “X”?_______________________________ List 3 substances that enter “X” ________________ __________________________________________ List 3 substance that leave “X”_________________ What is “A”?_________________________ What is “B”?_________________________ What is “D”?_________________________ What would happen if either “A” or “B” were not present? ________________________ ___________________________________

Stop Think And Reflect Did we reach our goal? Our goal today was for you to find out how plants are grouped… Did you reach that goal? How do you know that you reached the goal? What are you going to do if you did not reach that goal?? 6

Study 15 minutes tonight – understand what you learned in class today! EOCA = End of Class Assignment Be the change you wish to see in the world 7 7
