“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8   “Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.” John 21:25 Jesus’ life was overflowing with the miraculous and healings, and it was passed on to the disciples and others.

Luke 9: 1-6 – When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and heal the sick. He told them: “Take nothing for the journey – no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra shirt. Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that town. If people do not welcome you, leave their town and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.” So they set out and went from village to village, proclaiming the good news and healing people everywhere.

Luke 10: 1-11 – After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road. When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you. Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house. When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is offered to you. Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The Kingdom of God has come near to you.’”

Matthew 28: 18-20 – “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”   Colossians 1: 15- 22 – “The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created; thing in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.”

In the four gospels there are primarily two words that are used to describe the healing ministry of Jesus Iaomai – to cure, to be doctored, a healing power that progressively reverses a condition; restorative healing power Luke 17:14 – When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourself to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed (healed).

Therapeuo (therapy) – a healing touch that requires corresponding actions Matthew 12:13 – Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other. John 5:8 – Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.”

Jesus releases healing power involved with corresponding actions Matthew 4:23,24 – Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed them.

Matthew 9:35,36 – And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. The ministry of Jesus, as well as the ministry of his disciples, was highlighted by healings.

Romans 5:8 – God demonstrated His love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Luke 19:10 – For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4: 14-16
