Exposition- (n). the part of the story that introduces the setting, characters, and basic situation (conflict) 3. Rising Action- (n). events that reveal the conflict (problem) 4. Climax- (n). turning point of a story

Vocabulary #4 5. Falling Action – (n). the part of a story when the conflict lessens 6. Resolution – (n). the story’s conclusion 7. Foreshadowing - (n). the use of clues early in a story to hint at events that are going to occur later.

Elements of Fiction Gallery Walk In your assigned groups you will write as much as you know (what it is, why it’s important, are there different types, etc.) about one each element of fiction for 7 minutes. After the 7 minutes you will then have 3 minutes to look at the other groups’ work and add any other information to their papers.
