Rational vs. Irrational Rational Number Irrational Number

Learning Targets: NS1 Rational Number versus Irrational & NS2: Approx Learning Targets: NS1 Rational Number versus Irrational & NS2: Approx. Irrational Roots What is the difference between rational and irrational numbers? • Why do we approximate irrational numbers? • How do we locate approximate locations of irrational numbers on a number line and estimate the values of irrational numbers?

Learning Targets: NS1 Rational Number versus Irrational & NS2: Approx Learning Targets: NS1 Rational Number versus Irrational & NS2: Approx. Irrational Roots

Speed Dating Find a partner who can answer a question. However, you must find someone who is answering a different question than you. Once you have your partner, you will introduce yourself as if your on a “date”, but will do this using the whichever problem your doing. You will have two minutes to answer your question. If you need help, you can ask your “date” help. One you have finish your question, share and discuss your answers with your partner. When time is up, I will play music. This is your cue to switch and find another partner. The person with the sticker on their desk is the person that should move. Repeat steps 1-4 until all questions have been answered. Learning Targets: NS1 Rational Number versus Irrational & NS2: Approx. Irrational Roots Each One Teach One

Snowstorm Take out a sheet of paper. Create a question over any of the concepts we have learned thus far.( exponents, square roots, cubed roots, rational and irrational numbers). Once you have wrote down your question, ball up your paper. When I say “SNOWSTORM”, throw your snowball (paper) across the room. Pick up a snowball off the floor, and solve the question you classmate has created and share.
