Title Brief title for the lab. Pre-lab Answer all pre-lab Questions questions showing all work when necessary. Purpose The purpose of the lab in your own words.
Hypothesis YOUR solution to the purpose of the lab. Background information must be researched before forming a hypothesis.
Materials List the equipment and reagents needed to complete the experiment. Intro Act. Results from the Introductory Activity. i.e. Data tables, graphs, etc
Procedure. Step by step instructions. for performing the. experiment Procedure Step by step instructions for performing the experiment. Must be written in third person. Must include the proper name for equipment and appropriate sig figs for that instrument.
Data Tables for collecting data and space for observations. Calculations This section may be hand-written or typed. All graphs must be created using Excel. If you do not have access to Excel, please let me know. If you use the computers in the library, Excel is available.
Conclusion Restate the hypothesis. Is the hypothesis accurate or inaccurate? What evidence from the data/calculations proves the hypothesis is accurate or inaccurate? (This must include data!) What is the percent error of experiment? What are some possible sources of error?
Questions Complete the questions at the end of the original lab copy. Every person in the class must turn in his/her own lab report at the beginning of class on the due date. If the report is not turned in at the correct time, points will be deducted accordingly.
