Writing lab reports A scientific report usually consists of the following: Cover page Abstract Introduction Materials and methods Results Conclusion Work cited
Title page Cover page: Consisting of: The title of your paper Your name Lab partner name Date of the experiment conducted
Abstract A brief of what the experiment was about. (Consisting of a few sentences)
Introduction The introduction should state the purpose of the lab, along with previous knowledge before conducting lab. (Consisting of a few sentences)
(Enough sentences to be specific and detailed.) Materials and Methods In sentences you should include all materials, and procedures taken during the experiment. (Enough sentences to be specific and detailed.)
Results All data should be included. Any tables If there are tables include a brief about the table.
Conclusion Using the data you collected, make conclusions about what was observed in your experimentation.
Work Cited If you used any information besides yourself or partner, make sure it is cited at the end of your paper.
