GRUDGE BALL

GRUDGE BALL Each team starts with 10 x’s on the board. At the end, the team with the most x’s will win.

GRUDGE BALL RULES: Every team will take a turn even if they don’t have any points. A teams’ correct answer allows them to erase two x’s from any other team(s).

GRUDGE MATCH RULES: You may not take x’s from your own team. A team may also earn 1 x if they get the ball in the trashcan.

GRUDGE MATCH RULES: As there are still classes around us, x’s will be taken away for inappropriate behavior.

GRUDGE MATCH RULES: There are only 20 questions in this game.

1. Give the equation of a line parallel to:

2. Convert to slope intercept form: 3x + 5y = 30

3. What is the x-intercept? x + 4y = 16

4. What is the y-intercept? x + 4y = 16

5. Which of the following are in standard form? Explain why. 3x = y + 2 y = 2x + 5 x + y = 10

6. What is the x – intercept?

7. What is the y – intercept?

Give two characteristics that make a line linear. 8. Give two characteristics that make a line linear.

9. Give the equation of a line perpendicular to:

10. Find the slope intercept form of: -5x + 2y = 10

11. From number 10, what is the slope and y-intercept?

12. List two characteristics of a linear function

13. Explain how you would graph the following equation: y = -x + 5

14. Explain how you find the intercepts of: ½x + 3y = 6

15. Mr. Santiago has two buckets of loser pudding. One can hold 5 ounces and the other can hold 7 ounces. Altogether he has 70 ounces of loser pudding. Write the equation in standard form.

16. Give the equation for standard form.

17. Create a word problem that would result in an equation in standard form.

18. Create a word problem that would result in an equation in standard form.

19. Create a word problem that would result in an equation in standard form.

20. Create a word problem that would result in an equation in standard form.
