I just started using my Rocketbook to draft my Absent Synopsis that I create daily, so students can see what they missed during class. cbrent@epasd.org Carmen Brent--high school
Ravenswood Elementary School in Chicago I am the Drama Teacher at Ravenswood Elementary School in Chicago and I am always looking for ways to help my students give and receive useful feedback to each other. To do this I need to be able to see the type of feedback they are getting so I can provide help where it is needed. I use a single point rubric for formative assessments. I have a few chromebooks, but not enough for everyone, and some of my students don't have access to computers at home. This means that paper is going to be necessary. I used to use journals to gather reflections, but carrying home 500 (I see all of the students) composition notebooks a week is not sustainable. This is where Rocketbook comes in! I used the downloadable pdf page and did a little editing in GIMP so I was left with the border, check boxes, and qr code, then I saved it as a .png. Then, using google draw, I created a rubric document with the Rocketbook page and added in a check mark in the appropriate area so the rubric will automatically save to the right classroom folder! When it's time to give/receive feedback, each student gets a copy. The students are responsible for writing down the notes they receive and keeping the rubric in class, so they can reuse it and observe their growth. After each class, I scan the page and I can look at their work from home without carrying a ton of journals. If a student loses their sheet, No Worries! I have a copy of past work, and can print out a new sheet. Not sure how to condense this without losing the information
