Mass (Masse) L.O. The Class understands the meaning of mass 16.3.15 L.O. The Class understands the meaning of mass The Class understands how to work with mass

What is Mass? Mass is the amount of matter in a given objekt Anything made up of matter has mass We all have mass The mass is always the same it doesn‘t matter where you are You measure the mass in g, kg, t, ... with a scale

What is g, kg, t? 1000g=1kg 1000kg=1t You use gram to weigh smaller things like paperclips You use kilogramms to weigh medium sized things (yourself, how much do you think you weigh?) You use tonnes to weigh larger things eg.cars ,trucks,elephants,...

Working with mass x1000 x1000 1g 1kg 1t :1000 :1000

Word problems with mass Hannah has two dogs and four birds. Altogether they weigh 120 kg. Each bird weighs 5000g and Hannah weighs 30 kg. If both dogs weigh the same, how much does one dog weigh?

We learned: What mass is How to use it How to calculate with it
