Warm-Up: Tuesday 1. Add the following to the definitions of your derivatives: phonograph: Invented by Thomas Edison, the phonograph was the first machine that could record and play back sound. telegraph: Invented by Samuel Morse, the telegraph machine used Morse code to send messages from one place to another. 2. Write a sentence for the first 4 derivatives for “graph”

Warm-Up: Wednesday 1. Add the following to the definitions of your derivatives: lithograph: a method of printing; used in making copies of art works and maps. phonogram: symbols that stand for specific speech sounds (ex. ö ç ē ə ) 2. Write a sentence for the last 5 derivatives for “graph” (lithograph, autograph, graphite, phonogram and hologram)
