Assessing Student Learning DOMAIN B Assessing Student Learning

TPE 2- Monitoring Student Learning During Instruction Main Idea: Teacher measures progress of all students to ensure learning goals are being met Teachers use multiple and differentiated assessments to collect evidence of student learning Teacher provide assessment feedback to students to encourage growth of skills Supporting Details: “Formative assessment is not a test but a process—a planned process involving a number of different activities” (Marzano, 2010, p. 22).

TPE 3: Interpretation and Use of Assessments Main Ideas: Teachers use various diagnostic tools to measure and assess learning Teachers accommodate and modify assessment to meet the individual needs of students Teachers use assessment results to inform future instruction Supporting Details: “The function of this feedback is to help teachers and students make adjustments that will improve students’ achievement of intended curricular aims” (Marzano, 2010, p. 24).
