By the end of this lesson you should: Understand the distinction between Heat and Temperature. Know that solids, liquids & gases all expand when heated. Know how H2O can break the rule. Be able to describe experiments to show that: Solids expand when heated Liquids expand when heated Gases expand when heated Be able to explain the 3 ways that heat travels: By Conduction By Convection By Radiation Be able to describe experiments to: Show Convection currents in heating water Compare the Conductivity of different metals Compare how black and shiny surfaces Radiate heat
