Journal 3 You will write a five paragraph essay discussing one of the nine themes we looked at for PTI. Identity/self- esteem; Poverty; Racism/Discrimination; Family Relations; Hopes & Dreams; Bullying; Alcoholism & Violence; Male Friendships; and Role Models Requirements: Each of your body paragraphs must contain at least one quote. You need to use the triangle quote format (On page __, paragraph__, Alexie says, ". . ." Each of the following questions will be answered in their own paragraph: What is Alexie saying about our theme? How does he address it in the novel? How does it apply to people in general? You need to discuss what Junior learns about your theme and what we the reader can learn from Junior's experience. Your introduction needs to include a hook and your conclusion needs to effectively wrap-up the essay.
