Goldfish Behavior Part 3

Daily Objective Fish behavior is influenced by conditions in the environment. Fish have senses to help them detect objects in their environment.

Today we are going to add a square plastic tube to our aquariums. Introduction Today we are going to add a square plastic tube to our aquariums. What do you think the fish will do when we add the tunnel? What have you seen them do when other things are added to the aquarium?

Observation and Discussion Putting in the Tunnel Lets see what the fish do when first put it in and when it is in for a few minutes. Did the fish seemed frightened when the tunnel was placed in the aquarium? What movements did the fish make to give you a clue that they might be afraid if the new object? What did the fish do after they got used to the tunnel? Do any of the fish swim through the tunnel? Next to the tunnel or above it?
