NOTES SECTION Atomic Structure Central nucleus surrounded by electrons. The 3 subatomic particles are called: protons electrons neutrons

Proton p(+) Protons have a positive (+) electric charge. p+ are found in the center core, the nucleus.

Neutron n(0) Neutrons are electrically neutral. NO CHARGE. n0 are also located in the nucleus.

Electron e(-) The electron has a negative (-) charge. The electrons are very energetic and found rapidly moving around the outside of the nucleus. They are also very, very, very small!

Labeling parts of an atom Use red, blue, and black to outline your bubble map on INB pg.16 as follows; Electron Neutron Proton

Labeling parts of an atom Back to INB pg.17 Underline Proton RED Underling Neutron BLUE Underline Electron BLACK

Molecules Molecule: When 2 or more atoms join together For example H + O2 H2O Hydrogen + Oxygen  Water
