Summary This book is about a girl in a tribe of native Americans called Galahs. Her name is Karana. But when her village is evacuated she ends up on the island alone. What will become of her…?

Karana Karana is obviously the main character in this book. She is independed, responsible, caring, hard working and kind hearted. She is an orphan on the I.O.B.D. her mother died and her father was killed by the Murders leader of the Aleuts she has no other siblings becouse her sister sank in the white man’s ship and her brother was killed by Rontu and the rest of the wild dogs.

Ramo Ramo was Karana’s sister. He was spicily born to make trouble but his trouble saved his and his sisters life, becouse the ship that took all the members of Galahs. Sadly with his foolishness he thought he was the new chief of galahs and made up an extremely strange and long name, he was killed by the wild dogs leaving his sister angry and sad.

Ulape Ulape was the sister of Karana and Ramo. She lived a fairly short life and I will tell you why later Now stop interrupting me! She died of being on the white man’s ship and that ship sadly sank in the shores of Santa Barbra. If she hadn't died of that ship wreck she would have begged the ship to come back for Karana. Ulape was a small bit greedy for her jewelry but she was also a good sister.

Rontu Rontu is a wild dog of the Aleuts. He actually was the dog that did the most damage and killed Ramo. But soon after that Karana shot an arrow into his chest and almost killed him. Karana grew a tiny bit of sympathy of him and saved Rontu’s life They were BFF. He surived with Karana from the devilfish, wild dogs, and he probably was hurt by the Aleuts sometime in his life.

Rontu Aru I didn’t tell you about this in the slide about Rontu, But Rontu died. My guess is about 1 week Karana found Rontu Aru Right away she knew he was Rontu’s son but nobody knows who the mother is… She took vines from the other side of the island and captured him they quickly became best friends.

Recommendation This book is sad, happy, exciting, and FUN.I recommend this book to 3-5. Always try to stay on your feet 
