Graduation Information Meeting March, 2019

Application to Graduate Application for graduation Ministry of Education transcript Check your credit count to ensure that you are eligible for graduation. Check the spelling of your name as this is what will appear on your diploma.

To be eligible to graduate: Have at least 19 credits already Taking enough classes now to have the possibility of at least 24 credits by June It is the student responsibility to ensure all graduation requirements are met! You must receive a final mark in each of these classes and will not be eligible to participate if you requested or were required to drop any of the classes needed to meet the minimum requirements. For most of you, you will have more than enough credits. Lots of you will have 30 credits when you graduate. Maybe more.

Establishing the Grad list You must have passed, or be passing, all required courses as of midterm of the second semester. Midterm Report Cards will be issued on Thursday, April 18th Students who are not passing at midterm must meet with Mr. Pasloski. You will have 2 weeks to get into a passing position. If you are not in a position to pass you may not be able to participate in the graduation ceremony. Make a plan to be passing by May 12. If failing after May 12 – meet with you and make a plan.

Note: Students currently taking a cyber course need to have completed half the course and be passing by Thursday April 18th.

Graduation Fees The costs associated with the Graduation are covered by your Grad fee of $65. A student may participate only once in Graduation Exercises. Welcome Introduce Tom and his role. Prayer First time parents…..blah blah blah

Graduation and School Fees All outstanding fees must be paid before you are allowed to buy banquet tickets! Tickets will be purchased online – instructions and dates will be sent out to all parents in early April Grad and all outstanding School fees must be settled before banquet and dance tickets are ordered. The online system will NOT allow to purchase tickets if you have outstanding fees! Please see Mr. Pasloski or Student Services if there are financial difficulties in paying any outstanding fees.

Grade 12 Grad Retreat Friday, June 7th, 2019 8:30-3:15 ALL Grade 12 students are required to attend – if there are significant extenuating circumstances (surgery etc.) an alternate assignment will be required – tournaments and dance competitions etc. are not reasons to miss! Friday, June 7th, 2019 8:30-3:15 St. Thomas More on the University of Saskatchewan campus

The Graduation Rehearsal will be on Tuesday, June 25th at 11:15 a.m. immediately following Period Five exam. All Graduates must attend.

Mass and Exercises Wednesday June 26th at 1:00 p.m. Cathedral of the Holy Family Participating students may invite as many guests as they wish to the Graduation exercises. No tickets are required. Students participating in Graduation Exercises must wear the appropriate cap, gown and stole. Girls – hair done – have to wear your cap – no exceptions Boys – no shorts!! Or flip flops!!

THE BANQUET AND DANCE TCU Place @ 7:00 PM All graduating students, their parents and guests, and staff members, are invited to attend the banquet. Each graduate may purchase tickets $51 per person – which includes all the online service charges

Student Participation in Graduation events Roles include: Valedictorian, Salutatorian (selected by Graduates) Mass leaders and readers, prayer, toasts, banquet emcees, entertainment between Mass and exercises, O Canada Student Committee: First impression – classy This sums up the role of the school with graduation. The rest is up to you. Make sure you are doing everything you can to make this a successful graduation for everyone. And make sure there is nothing that prevents you from being taken off the list. Keep it classy!

Financial Support Please see Mr. Pasloski for a confidential plan regarding tickets,grad fees,etc. See Student Services for information on the Princess Shop regarding grad day expenses (dress, photos, makeup, etc).
