You’ll be asked to show your thinking with multiple representations and to justify your reasoning. Homework will be assigned regularly, including online practice on Khan Academy. Success comes with practice and perseverance. Bobcat PRIDE Math Practice (20%): This includes classwork, practice work, bell work, exit tickets, binder check, and more. Grading & Policies Assessment (80%): This includes quizzes, tests, projects, presentations, and more. Improve a grade: You may complete quiz and test corrections to improve a score. You have 2 weeks to complete the corrections. Late Policy: Late work will be accepted for up to one week after the given unit assessment. After that, you may no longer submit the assignment.

What can families do to help their student? About me: This will be my fourth year of teaching mathematics at Temecula Middle School. I am an alumna of UC San Diego(1987). After earning my degree there, I went to San Diego State to get my credential. I’ve worked in several schools in Arizona, Texas in California, but the best so far is right here in Temecula. I’m so happy to be teaching Math to the awesome TMS Bobcats! Tutoring/Extra Help Extra help is offered during PRIDE, before school or during lunch. Please check with me to make an appointment. Please note: The expectation is that you are attentive in class and working to understand the concepts. Please do not waste class time only to request to stay after school to make up for lost time. You may also email me for help, and I will respond as soon as possible. What can families do to help their student? Monitor grades online. Reference class website for assignments. Ask to see notes and examples done in class. Use Khan Academy for guided instruction. Email me, your teacher, with questions if you cannot immediately meet in person. Student Work You are expected to take and keep notes every day in your math journal. You will also keep all bell work, practice and loose papers in your folder. Do NOT throw anything away. Your folder should be here every day. Do not throw anything away. All Class Work and Practice Work is normally graded based on completion. Students should come to class prepared to discuss the practice work, and fix/edit as needed. Work Presentation Full name and assignment Show all work/steps top down Class Expectations In addition to TMS handbook rules, Room 926 Math Scholars are expected to be Prompt, Prepared, Polite, Productive, and Proficient. They are encouraged to ask questions when needed and listen to and make sense of their classmates’ reasoning. My goal is for YOU to be successful in mathematics, but I will need your help! Do your best and communicate with me when you cannot. Let’s make this year a GREAT year! Class Donations Class donations are not mandatory, but greatly appreciated! We are always in need of: Kleenex, pencils, copy paper, lined paper, expo markers, colored pencils, highlighters, erasers, etc. Thank you!
