Neutralization Reactions

Neutralization Reactions A neutralization reaction in one where the acid and base join together and there is no longer Hydrogen ions or hydroxide ions floating around the solution. Therefore, there is nothing to make the solution either acidic or basic-it is neutral! pH = 7 when mol [H+] = mol [OH-] When an acid and a base come together, they make a salt and water! The salt is not an acid or a base, it is neutral.
