Explanation of Concept Liquid Volume is when you measure liquids. Key words for liquid volume are cups, pints, quarts, gallons, milliliters, and liters.

Vocabulary A cup is like a happy meal drink from McDonalds. A pint is like a regular water bottle of water. A quart is almost the same as a liter. A gallon is like a big jug of orange juice. A milliliter is a drop from an eyedropper. A liter is like large drink at McDonalds.

Example Problems What unit and tool would you use to measure water for a cake recipe? What unit would you use to measure the amount of water in a tub?

Example Problem Answers The amount that you would use to measure a cake recipe is a cup, because it is a small amount. The amount that you would to measure a tub full of water is gallons or liters, because it’s a big amount.

Thank you for watching our slide show about liquid volume!
