Note Cards Advanced Composition

Resource Note Cards Resource Note Cards identify the resources you are using in your paper. Correctly formatting these cards will make your Works Cited page of your paper easy to create. You must use proper MLA formatting.

Formatting Hammond, William H. “Media and the War.” Label each Resource Note Card alphabetically. A Hammond, William H. “Media and the War.” Encyclopedia of the Vietnam War. New York: Macmillan Library Reference, 1996. Article in Book Author’s Last name, First name. “Title of Article.” Title of Book. Publication Location: Publisher, Date. Type of resource

Information Note Cards Information note cards contain the information you have retrieved from your sources. The purpose of these cards is to help you organize the information for your paper. Following proper citation rules for your cards will make your paper easier to put together. The information on your note cards may be either quoted or summarized.

Signifies that this is the first information note card from that source. Summary Summary of information found in resource. Letter from Resource Card A – 1 One of the reasons the Vietnam War was so devastating to the American public was due to the sheer volume of horrifying images shown (28). summary Put the page number the information can be found on in parenthesis. Label whether the card is a quote or summary.
