Biography of Percy Shelley Percy-Bysshe Shelley was born in August 4, 1792, in Horsham, United Kingdom. He died in July 8, 1822, in Lerici, Italy. He was one of the famous poetry in 19th century, he had written many poems in his life, and his poem has become famous to the world. Ode to the West Wind and The Masque of Anarchy, these are the name of his poems that had become famous to the world and make people know his name.

Peterloo Massacre -St Peter's field August 16 1819 The British cavalry assaulted a group of around 60,000 to 80,000 people. The people were protesting against parliament Supposedly MofA was based on the Peterloo Massacre Was caused by unemployment 11 fatalities ~400-700 injured/wounded

The Masque Of Anarchy Summary Basically the poem MofA. Is about a man and how he is visited in a dream and is inspired to go forth on a journey through poetry. This man meets many personified actions, such as Murder, Fraud, Hypocrisy and Anarchy. This man also meets Hope, but a version of whom Hope, has lost Hope. She says "My father is weak and gray" referring to time, and saying it's the end of the world and the end of time. However a light comes out from the air and restores Hope's hope. As scenes of murder, crime and war break loose, Hope walks calmly through the slaughter and kills Anarchy. Light and happiness is then restored to the city of London. It portrays Shelley's political hate, describing Murder wearing a mask of Castlereagh, and involving other British politicians names for bad personifications like Fraud.

Analysis of Shelley's Literary/Writing Style Percy Shelley was a Romanticist. Romantic poetry is different to other kinds of poetry. Romantic poetry is that of emotions and portraying feelings. Romantic poetry is also about the imagination, Percy Shelley always put his imagination into his poetry, and with him, imagination is the most important part in his poetry. Because with the help of his imagination, he make his poetry it makes it more interesting and lets the reader pay more attention to his work. Most of Percy Shelley poem is about happy things in life, yet that does not exclude the depressing.
