Newton's Second Law F=m/a Static Friction Sliding Friction Definition- The force that prevents two surfaces from sliding past each other. Picture- Box does not move. Sliding Friction Definition- The force that opposes the motion of two surfaces sliding past each other. Picture Rolling Friction Definition- a force between a rolling object and the surface it rolls on Air Resistance Definition A friction like force that opposes the motion of objects that move through the air. Friction- The force that opposes the sliding motion of two surfaces that are touching each other.
