Food Return To Entry

Jobs In the Inuit tribe, there were many jobs. Their jobs were usually hunting, ice fishing, cooking meals, start fires, and making clothes. The Inuit people would do their jobs for most of the day. Return to Entry

Celebrations The Inuit people had many fun and important celebrations. The first celebration was The Sun Dance. The Sun Dance is a celebration which is more important than Christmas. Return to Entry

Igloos In the Inuit tribe, they built igloos in the winter. They would make their igloos out of sharp jagged ice that they cut out. Sometimes they would cut a hole on up of the round igloo, so the smoke from the fire can go through. Return to Entry

Hunting When the Inuit go hunting they hunt polar bears, whales, and walrus. They usually would use the animals for food and clothing. The Inuit would also hunt in groups because they could share their meat. Return to Entry

Clothing After, the Inuit tribe went hunting they would use the skins for clothing. The Inuit tribe would use the skins from polar bears, seals, walrus. Usually they would make coats, pants, boots, gloves, and winter hats. Return to Entry

Meat In the Inuit tribe, they hunted whales, seals, polar bears , and foxes. When they were done hunting, they used every part of the animal’s body. Sometimes the Inuit people would dry their meat , so then it would last longer. Return to Exhibit

Berries In the summer the Inuit tribe ate berries. Usually they ate the berries off wild plants. The berries they ate were so sweet they danced up the Indians mouth. Sometimes they even smashed the berries into juice to drink. Return to Exhibit

Dried Meat When the Inuit people had surplus meat they would usually dry it. The Inuit people would dry their meat because the meat would last longer. But, when the Inuit people went to get their meat, it was chewy and hard. Return to Exhibit
