The Scientific Method?
The Scientific Method!!! That’s EEEASY!! It is a process that is used to find the answers to questions about the world around us. What IS the Scientific Method?
Is there only one Scientific Method? No, ACTUALLY… There are SEVERAL versions!! Some Have lots of steps – some have few. But they ALL start with the identification of a problem or a question to be answered.
That’s right!! And then, they provide an organized method for conducting and analyzing an experiment!!
So what is a Hypothesis? It is an educated guess- based on Observations and your knowledge of the topic. It is NOT JUST a GUESS!!
What is Data?? "I chose to believe that I was a person, that I had the potential to become more than a collection of circuits and subprocessors." - Data, 2369 Lieutenant Commander Data was a Soong-type android, the first and only such being to ever enter Starfleet. Data was created some time in the 2330s and destroyed in 2379, sacrificing himself to save the eight hundred men and women aboard the USS Enterprise-E.
It is the information gathered from an experiment. What is Data??
Identify the Problem Form A Hypothesis What do you want to know or explain? Use observations you have made to write a question that addresses the problem or topic you want to investigate. Form A Hypothesis What do you think will happen? Predict the answer to your question or the outcome of the experiment.

Analyze the Data Is the data reliable? Does your data and observations from the experiment Support your hypothesis?
Support your hypothesis? Analyze the Data Is the data reliable? Does your data and observations from the experiment Support your hypothesis? No Is your data inaccurate or the experiment flawed? Yes Yes Modify the Experiment No Rewrite your procedure to address the flaws in the original experiment Communicate the Results Write a conclusion that summarizes the important parts of your experiment and the results
