Graphing Created on graph paper or on the computer ex: http://nces.ed.gov/nceskids/createagraph/default.aspx A title that indicates what relationship will be shown in the graph Consistent axis increments Always have the origin at 0 Axis titles with units of measure X-axis: Independent variable Y-axis: Dependent variable

Title Dependent Variable Independent Variable

Results Data collected written in words. Just facts, no interpretations or explanations. Use calculations as much as possible ( %, averages, ratios…) *Write results so that someone would know what happened in your experiment without seeing your data tables.

Results According to the data of safflower seed growth with the addition of Marigold stem extract, as the stem solution increased in concentration, the growth of the safflower reduced. Water ( the control) had an average total growth of 7.8 cm, 25% marigold stem solution showed 7.1 cm………………………….

Conclusion Restate and address your hypothesis; did your data support or not support the hypothesis. *state what happened and suggest a reason. *Why is this information important/ real world application. *What did this experiment lead you to…what would you do next.

Lab book collected Monday Checking for: 1. Allelopathy brainstorming 2. Original lab: problem, hypothesis, material, procedure, data, graph, results, conclusion. 3. Notes on Designing an experiment 4. HW- addressing the 6 steps as it relates to your seed lab New and improved Lab: Hypothesis, materials, procedure, data table, graph, results, conclusion (Improvement from the original design). 7. Stamps/my initials: Allelopathy lab design
