Who was abraham? Abraham was a sheperd who lived in Ur According to the bible he made a covenant, or promise, with God. He would obey and worship God, and in return God would protect Abraham and his descendants. He had a child with his wife’s handmaiden, Hagar. The child was named Ishmael. Sarah forced Abraham to kick Ishmael out to the desert-Muslims consider themselves descended from Ishmael. Sarah and Abraham finally had a child, Isaac=Jews and Christians are descendants of Isaac.
