Balloon and baking soda experiment. By: Healeah Watts Date completed:December 7th.

Scientific Question. If you put baking soda and pop into a balloon will the balloon fill up?

Backround. I chose this topic because I wanted to see the chemical reaction. I thought it would be pretty cool to see the balloon fill up. I had heard my sister talking about this topic before. Then I googled it and got more information about this topic.

Hypothesis. If you add the coke and the baking soda into the balloon then the balloon will fill up.

Variables. The brand of baking soda.

Procedure. Get materials. Take balloon and tunnel and put the tunnel into the balloon. Pour baking soda into the balloon. Take the balloon and attach it to the tunnel on the bottle then tip the balloon so that the baking soda goes into the bottle. Take a tape measure and put it around the balloon to see how much the balloon has blown up. Take the other kind of baking soda and put it into another balloon using the tunnel. Attach the balloon onto the bottle and tip balloon again. Take a tape measure and see how much the balloon has blown up.

Conclusion. Scientific question: If you put baking soda and pop into a balloon will the balloon fill up? Background: I had heard about it then decided to do more research on it. Hypothesis: If you add the coke and the baking soda into the balloon then the balloon will fill up. Variables: The brand of baking soda. Procedure: Get materials, Take balloon and tunnel put the tunnel into the balloon, pour baking soda into the balloon take the balloon and attach it to the on the bottle then tip the balloon so that the baking soda goes into the bottle, take a tape measure and put it around the balloon to see how much the balloon has blown up, take the other kind of baking soda and put it into a balloon using a tunnel, attach the balloon to the tunnel of the bottle and tip it so that the baking soda would go into the bottle, take a tape measure and see how much the balloon has blown up. Data: Baking soda A made the balloon fill up to 15 ½ in Baking soda B made the balloon fill up to 15 in.
