Figure 1 Staphylococcus epidermidis inhibits Propionibacterium acnes-induced cutaneous inflammation. Staphylococcal lipoteichoic acid inhibits P. acnes-induced IL-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α by suppression of toll-like receptor 2 by miR-143 in keratinocytes. MiR-143 targets the 3′UTR of toll-like receptor 2 directly to decrease the stability of toll-like receptor 2 mRNA and thereby to decrease the production of toll-like receptor 2 protein.
