Korean War

Korea Korea was divided at the 38th parallel because Japanese troops surrendered north of this line to the Soviets and south of the line to the Americans following WWII. The Soviet Union encouraged North Korea to invade the South Didn’t think the US would protect the South

Korea TRUE – the UN approved a military attack on North Korea Eventually the fight between North & South Korea became a war between the US & the Soviet Union The Korean war lasted 2 years

Korea North Korea struggles with shortages of energy and food. South Korea claimed one of the highest economic growth rates in the world. Even with talks, North Korea is opposed to reunification.
