CNRS contribution to ESS – 01/02/17 3 Spoke cavities 3 prototypes tested w/ excellent results Preparation & Heat treatment process @600°C validated on the two ZANON prototypes Mass production have started Niobium ordered (-> TOKYO DENKAI) Kick-off meeting Feb 1st 2017 First Nb sheets available in April 2017 Cavities ordered (-> ZANON) Kick-off meeting Jan 26th 29 cavities (26 + 3 spare / tuning procedure validation) 4 first cavities (pre-serie) should be ready end 2017 JL Biarrotte, CNRS/IN2P3

CNRS contribution to ESS – 01/02/17 3 Spoke couplers 4 prototypes fabricated 1 coupler validated (from PMB) Conditionned @nominal power Assembled on Romea cavity & sent to Upsala (Jan2017) Validation test of cavity+coupler in preparation at Upsala 3 other couplers (2 from SCT, 1 from PMB) out of order 2 broken windows (SCT), 1 brasing melting (PMB) 2 new prototypes under fabrication (PMB) Available end of march 2017 Tb conditionned & installed in prototype cryomodule Mass production should be launched within 3 months Once Upsala validation test successful Target = 1st couplers available March 2018 for first serie cryomodule assembly.
