About her To this present day she is still alive, she is 76 years old. She studied English at oxford university She started plays after her graduation She wrote top girls in 1982 She writes mostly about feminism She is a supporter of Palestine

Feminism within Top Girls -In Top Girls, feminism is identified -The play is about women from different historic eras coming together and talking about men oppressing them simply because they are of an “inferior gender” -Top Girls was released in 1982 and a huge success Play also talks about sexual politics

Structure and language Churchill uses suspense though patterning Her plays are constructed from many connected scenes that don’t always link up with each other, but instead builds up through patterning.

Connection with Dramatists Just like Arthur Miller’s ‘The Crucible’, Churchill approaches social issues in Vinegar Tom, she gained this inspiration from Miller.
