1. What is the difference between a habitat and a niche? D N A 1. What is the difference between a habitat and a niche? 2. List all the biotic & abiotic factors that you can think of in an ecosystem. 3. What determines the climate of a biome? 4. (You do not have to write this section, but you do have to use complete sentences in your answer) Sea otters live in the kelp forests off the shallow and semi deep waters of the Pacific coast. They love to eat fish and sea urchins. Sea urchins love to eat the holdfasts of kelp (these are what keep kelp secure to the ocean floor so they don’t float away) Below middle is a kelp forest with sea otters. The far right photo shows the same kelp forest but after the sea otters have been removed. Explain what has happened to the kelp forest.
