Steppe

Steppe Steppe Region is found in the Ukraine and Russia. The Ukraine is known as the “Bread Basket of Europe” because of the farmland. Steppe seen here.

Pampas

The Pampas There are many kinds of animal and plant life in the Pampas. Native plants and animals on the Pampas have made adaptations to living in a windy grassland. Many animals browse on grass or burrow in the ground.

Threats to Grasslands Cultivation and overgrazing have changed the grasslands. The grain crops that have replaced native grasses cannot hold the soil in place as well because of shallow roots. Overgrazed grasslands cannot recover fast enough to grow strong roots.
