Device Description - Extending Arm 3 Syringes Pivot Lift Open/Close

Component Identification Contains 3 Syringes (Cylinders): converts fluid power to mechanical power Transmission Lines: transports fluid in a circuit Second Class Lever: lifts the arm

System Operation Extending Arm Used to Grab Things Pivots back and forth Lifts up and down Opens and Closes

Schematic Sketch of Fluid Power Device Schematic of Syringe

Problems Wobbly Difficult to lift Leakage from the syringes Positioning of the syringes

Major Take-a-ways Better Understanding of Hydraulics vs. Pneumatics Fluid Power and Mechanical Advantage (different size syringes = easier/harder to maneuver) Able to choose the problem
