Biotechnology Training & Researching in University of Natural Science Prof. Dr. Do Ngoc Lien Hanoi University of Natural Sciences – National University 5/20/2019

Introduction.  Faculty of Biology, Biotechnological center and Center for Molecular Biology & Cell’s Biotechnology are training and Research institutions of National Hanoi University.  At present, Biological faculty has 9 specialized departments with 16 professors, about 40 associate professors, doctors and hundreds of graduate and undergraduate students are studying and working here. 5/20/2019

Introduction.  Two specialties as the Sciences of life and Biotechnology were established here. Recently, the new Biomedical speciality was also come in. 5/20/2019

2. Training and Research Activity Biotechnology in Biological faculty is focused in:  Genetics  Genetic engineering  Biochemical  Microbiological  Plant & animal cell technology  Application of biotechnology in studying biodiversity  Biotechnology of application of natural bioactive products in biology & medicine.

2. Training and Research Activity The results of training and research obtained are hundreds of graduate and postgraduate students (doctors, masters) which take part in national and international research institutes.

3. Co-operations Home and international co-operations in training and research are always developed actively, all the time.

3. Co-operations We are carrying out cooperative researches in Biotechnological area with many countries as * Asean * United of American * Japan * Canada * China * United Kingdom * France * Netherlands * Germany and other countries..

4. Some research results obtained in collaboration with home and foreign institutions were reported and published in national and international levels as

For example: determination of chicken sex by PCR technique. 4.1. Application of Molecular biology techniques in studying Biodiversity, sex, disease diagnostics. For example: determination of chicken sex by PCR technique. 4.2. Studying the Biodiversity of harmful -environmental Cyanobacteria and food - toxic bacteria and viruses by RAPD - PCR, RT-PCR. 4.3. Using lectin-biokits in detecting toxic bacteria in food. 5/20/2019

4.4. Studying produce of bio-kit used in forensic area (DNA probe, restriction enzymes, etc...). 4.5. Investigating genetic diversity of isozymes from plant and animal species of Vietnamese resources. 4.6. Studying recombinant technology for creating some micro-organisms producing recombinant enzymes (amylases, restriction enzymes), and vaccines, etc...
