How to do standard notation To do standard notation you have to know the steps to getting the answer. ∙ Start with a number, an example 10 to the power of 4 ∙ Then since the bigger number is started with a one the standard notation automatically starts with a one. ∙ Then since the bigger number’s second number is 0, there are 4 0’s ∙ The final number is 10,000

How to multiply fractions Multiplying fractions is very easy if you know what to do. There are a few easy steps, just like standard notation, to get the problem done. ∙ Start with two fractions, for example ¼ and ¾ ∙ Then go straight across the bottom and multiply 4 and 4. You will get 16 ∙ Then you multiply 3 and 1 the two numbers across each other on the top. You will get 3. ∙ The final fraction should be 3/16.

Quiz What is the standard notation for these problems? 10 to the power of 3: _ 10 to the power of 6:_ Challenge: 30 to the power of 4:_ What is the answer to these multiplying fraction questions? ½ * ¾ = 1/3 * 3/6 = 2/4 * 4/6 =
